Multiply Customized Themes

Posted by Luiz Felipe on May 23, '08 12:23 AM for everyone
In the last update, all the base themes were updated with minor adjustments, probably preparing for the next Multiply update.

Besides that, now there is a CSS Validator built in in the Custom CSS page (where you add/edit your personal CSS). After the update, it was buggy but it seems that it's all fixed now. But there is a change now and it's permanent: now the Custom CSS will only be saved if there is no errors in the code. What means that if your old code has errors and you try to edit it, maybe you won't be able to save the the changes until you fix all the errors in the code. Don't panic: the validator you show an error message and try to help you fix it.

Theme users: if you are using a custom theme and the theme you are trying to use won't save, try another one and/or contact the author in the same thread as the theme post asking her/him to fix the code.

Theme authors: double-check your code before publishing it to the group. This site may help you fix/clean your CSS code:

Yes....thanks very much for the cleancss link! I had bookmarked it without looking at it and lost track of where it is. Just looked at the link though and was thrilled to find it was an online service (no download needed). I have now re-bookmarked it in a more convenient folder for the future!! :D

Thank you for the info and for ,you know what I mean ;-)))))
But to remove all the errors from all my themes and the ones I posted already, will take for ever,is there any other way ;-( I mean we all spend many hours for our themes and now they wont work anymore before we fix them ;-(( quite honestly it is a nightmare some how,of course on the other hand it is good to avoid any problems for the users .There should be a software which would fix all the little errors by it self, you know what I mean ?

What I would like to say is that if the software you created is already detecting the error then it would be subsequent step to repair to clean code at the same time . What I don't understand is,why you don't have request this from your software producer .

I don't work for Multiply and I am not involved in the CSS Validator development, I am just clarifying the facts.

The theme authors must check their themes once again and update their posts. The link above may help. There is no away to 'auto-fix' a code since only the author knows how the design must look like.

Thanks a lot for that,I will check out this link, sounds good to me ;-))

Is it because of these changes that the contents don't move with the backgrounds while rezising a IE window horizontally?
jonas4u2c wrote on Jun 10, '08
Sorry. Seems to be the other way round. Backgrounds are not keeping their place when a window is resized horizontally - only the bottom bg is.

There are instruction on how to 'install' the them in each post... You can backup the code in a text document on your computer, for example, so you can use it later.
